Hong Kong Races
Hong Kong has one of the densest endurance calendars in Asia. From the technical ridgelines of the MacLehose and Wilson Trails to flat-and-fast 10ks along the Victoria Harbour waterfront, runners here can race almost every weekend from October through April. The city's geography is the secret weapon — over 70% of Hong Kong is protected country park, criss-crossed by four long-distance trails (MacLehose, Wilson, Lantau and Hong Kong Trail) that climb above 900m and drop back to sea level inside a single afternoon. That's why iconic events like the Hong Kong 100 (HK100), Translantau, 9 Dragons Ultra and the Barclays Moontrekker draw runners from across Asia, Europe and North America each season.
Road runners are well served too. The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon every January, the harbourfront 10k circuit, charity runs across Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and a year-round programme of corporate and community events keep the road calendar full. Race directors across Hong Kong use Bibly to handle entries, ballots, waitlists, bib assignment and runner comms — without the desktop-only forms and paper waivers that defined the last decade. Whether you're chasing your first half marathon, lining up for a 100km ultra in the New Territories, supporting a Pride run on Hong Kong Island or pacing a friend through the night sections of Lantau, this page is the most up-to-date list of upcoming Hong Kong races. New events are added weekly as organisers open registration.

Frequently asked questions
- When does the Hong Kong race season start?
- The Hong Kong endurance season runs roughly from October to April, with peak race density between November and March when temperatures and humidity drop. Some hot-weather and night races — including the Barclays Moontrekker on Lantau — also run through the shoulder months.
- What is HK100?
- The Hong Kong 100 (HK100) is a 100km ultra-trail race held each January, traversing the MacLehose Trail from Sai Kung to Tai Mo Shan. It's part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour and one of the most competitive 100km ultras in Asia, with a strict 30-hour cut-off.
- What kinds of races are popular in Hong Kong?
- Hong Kong is a global hub for trail running and ultras thanks to its 70%-protected country parks and four long-distance trails. Marathons, half marathons, 10k road races, charity runs, night events, obstacle races and family-friendly fun runs also fill the calendar each year.
- How hot is it during Hong Kong race season?
- Peak race months (November–February) typically sit between 12°C and 22°C with moderate humidity — close to ideal racing conditions. Shoulder-season events in October, March and April can climb above 28°C, and summer events are usually held at night or on shaded trails.
- Do I need race insurance for Hong Kong events?
- Most road races include basic event-day cover via the organiser's policy. For trail ultras, organisers typically require a personal accident or trail-running insurance policy that covers helicopter evacuation. Each race's requirements are listed on its Bibly event page.
- How do I pay for a Hong Kong race entry on Bibly?
- Bibly supports Stripe card payments in HKD, FPS (Faster Payment System) and bank transfer with proof upload. You'll receive an instant confirmation email plus race-week and race-day reminders. International runners can pay by card in HKD with no extra Bibly fee.
- Can I get a refund or transfer my entry?
- Refund and transfer policies are set by each race organiser and shown on the event page before you check out. Many Hong Kong organisers running on Bibly support runner-to-runner transfers, deferrals to the next edition or partial credit toward a future race.
